Kiasma is an online platform designed to enhance the hauora/overall wellbeing of you and your employees through a blend of self- management tools and personalised human support.

Traditional Employee Assistance Programs (EAPs) typically target employees already facing severe stress or anxiety, often requiring them to navigate care through intermediaries such as HR or EAP representatives. These programs often have a fragmented health focus (focusing on primarily mental health), have low adoption rates among employees, and long wait times for therapy.
In contrast, Kiasma's wellbeing solution promotes proactive mental, physical and even spiritual and social health improvement and lifelong resilience through self-help tools and real human support. It includes health coaching and takes a holistic approach, reaching at least three times more employees than traditional EAPs. Moreover, it offers significantly reduced wait times for coaching and counselling services.

Kiasma’s app is available to support you 24 hours a day. You can sign in and use any of our wellbeing resources including meditations, delicious recipes and activities to de-stress. Our Health Coaches have specific working hours but will strive to respond to your messages as soon as they can. You can also access crisis support numbers at any time.

Kiasma is owned by Pegasus Health, one of the largest Primary Health Organisations (PHO) in New Zealand. Kiasma has a Clinical Governance framework that is implemented by the Clinical Lead. This includes, but is not limited to, policies and procedures, clinical governance checklists for partners, a clinical Advisory group consisting of senior health care professionals, including a GP, and ongoing content reviews.

Kiasma has been successfully supporting people in New Zealand (and the US and Australia) for 10+ years through its Melon Health programmes. These evidence based and clinically evaluated programmes have supported people with emotional and physical wellness as well as supporting those with specific conditions. Kiasma’s team includes registered mental and physical health professionals working alongside the clinical advisory group.

Yes! Kiasma provides all the crisis numbers you may need in one place so that if you need support straight away, you’ve got those numbers at your fingertips. We can also connect you with specialised services from your existing providers or from one of our partners including a CareHQ online GP and/or an Umbrella Wellbeing counsellor.
Coaching

Our coaches are real people, based here in Aotearoa who have extensive training in Health Coaching through The Holistic Performance Institute. They are accredited and registered through Health Coaching Australia New Zealand (HCANZA).

In New Zealand, the difference between a coach and a counsellor lies primarily in their focus, methods, and qualifications. A Kiasma Health Coach regulated by HCANZA, helps people achieve specific goals and improve their wellbeing through practical strategies and personal development. They focus on the future and use actionable steps to help clients reach their desired outcomes. Coaches come from diverse backgrounds and may have various certifications including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy or Clinical Nutrition.
A counsellor, on the other hand, is a professional who provides therapeutic support for emotional and psychological issues. They use evidence-based methods to explore past and present experiences, aiming to help clients heal and understand their feelings. Counsellors can diagnose and treat mental health disorders, following strict ethical guidelines and professional standards.

You can talk to your coach about ANYTHING relating to your hauora/overall health and wellbeing.
If they're not the right person to support you, they'll provide the necessary resources and/or referrals. Some people just know that they want to improve their health but don’t know where to start that’s ok! Health coaches can help with any feelings of overwhelm or uncertainty and create a clear path with you. Some examples include:

How do I book a session?
You can schedule sessions through the app by using the booking link that your coach will send you when you sign-up. You can also message your coach any time to request a catchup. Sessions can be text-based, a video session, or a phone call. Whatever works best for you.
Pricing

Kiasma’s services are provided free to staff whose employers are signed up to the programme. To learn more about pricing for employers and organisations, see our pricing page or get in touch.

Kiasma has a simple pricing structure with an annual cost per employee model for access to our digital platform. You can then add-on the human services you need via our partners on a per use basis billed at the end of every month based on actual usage. We will send a consolidated invoice for all of the services used so you only have to pay the one bill. Easy.

Privacy & Data

Your data is used to personalise your experience, provide tailored coaching and programme recommendations, and track your progress. It may also be aggregated (anonymously) for overall programme improvement and reporting to your employer.

Only authorised personnel, such as your assigned health coach and/or counsellor have access to your personal data. Your employer will not be able to see any individual data; they will only receive anonymised, aggregated reports. The app does not share your personal data with third parties.

If you request to delete your account, your data will also be deleted.
